As beaders, the first thing that tends to come to our minds when a holiday approaches is jewelry. We make pink and red designs for Valentine’s Day, pastel designs for Easter, red and green designs for Christmas and orange and black designs for Halloween. In my opinion, one of the most fun holidays to design for is St. Patrick’s Day because of all the beautiful shades of green there are to choose from. While browsing the internet for inspiration, I came across so many beautiful St. Patrick’s Day and green-themed designs that I decided I had to post a top 10 list. So grab yourself a green beer and some haggis, and get ready for a wee bit of Irish themed jewelry fun!
10. Mr. Lucky Earrings
Brought to us by Carol Smith of the Craftstar shop “Happy Everything,” these Swarovski crystal leprechaun earrings are simply adorable. Using the Swarovski cube and squaredelle to make a leprechaun’s hat is so clever. I am all about wearing cutesy holiday jewelry and these precious earrings would certainly do the job. Nice work Carol!
9. St. Patrick’s Day Party Beads
Cathie and Steve of Handmade Happy Hour show us how to make cute shamrock pendants using modpodge. I love the idea of making your own beads and their step by step instructions make it sound so easy! Plus, when you’re done your piece is truly one-of-a-kind. You could make really cute personalized jewelry for sports teams, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, etc. using this modpodge method. I can’t wait to try it out for every different holiday!
8. Green Cascading Bib Necklace
April Newcomb of the Etsy shop, “AprilGetsCrafty,” has found a way to make St. Patrick’s Day themed jewelry look very high fashion. I love the pairing of the Kelly Green color with the bright gold. I am always a fan of jewelry that makes a bold statement, and this definitely does just that!
7. St. Patrick and Spring Bracelet
From the Etsy shop “RosieandZoe,” we have this beautiful drop beaded cluster bracelet. I love the combination of cloudy white beads, taupe colored pearls and green crystals. This is a more toned-down, classy way to wear your green for St. Patrick’s Day. This bracelet is perfect for the understated celebrator.
6. St. Patrick’s Day Earrings
Coming to us from “the windy city,” Etsy shop owner “VZuniga,” has used links of chain paired with round beads to create a very whimsical, young looking St. Patrick’s Day earring design. Several different shades of green paired with simple silver make up the perfect pair of earrings to wear with your hair up at a St. Patty’s Day parade.
5. Dancing Clovers Beaded Bracelet
From the Luulla shop “SimpleBeadPatters,” comes this festive woven bracelet. Using crystals and seed beads, create your own bracelet or necklace that almost looks like you plucked clovers out of your yard and wove them together. I would proudly sport this all through the season of Spring.
4. Shamrock Charm Bracelet
Etsy shop “Copperryfields,” brings us an Irish-themed copper masterpiece. Not every St. Patrick’s Day design has to incorporate the color green and this metal bracelet is proof of that. The copper shamrock charm adds all the St. Patrick’s Day spirit you need, and the metal work here is awesome! I think my favorite part is the handmade toggle clasp. Kudos to the artist.
3. Four Leaf Clover Drop Pendant Necklace
Proving that sometimes less is more, Etsy shop PridemailleDesigns features a beautiful, simple St. Patrick’s Day design. Three Swarovski shamrock pendants in Fern, Emerald and Peridot paired with simple silver chain make for a necklace I would be proud to sport to show the Irish some love!
2. Triangle Bracelet
I am always impressed by intricate woven bead work. This piece, brought to us by Etsy shop BusyBeeBeadwork, turns delica seed beads in shades of green, gold and white into a show-stopping bangle bracelet. I would totally wear this bracelet to show my Irish heritage on St. Patrick’s Day (or any day of the year).
1. St. Patrick’s Day 3-Wrap Bracelet
I am partial to wrap bracelets, not just because I made a video on how to make them, but also because I just love how they look. I enjoy incorporating leather into jewelry designs because simply using metal components and beads sometimes makes me feel stuck in a jewelry making rut. Etsy shop DanaCaileyDesigns does a phenomenal job of selecting gold, white and green shades that characterize the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day impeccably.
I hope you enjoyed our list of the Top 10 St. Patrick’s Day Jewelry Designs. Don’t forget to wear green on Monday March 17th lest you get pinched! May the luck of the Irish be with you in all your future beading endeavors! Speaking of designing for the holidays… Does anyone have an ideas for Easter Jewelry?
