She put on the cream colored dress she had bought the day before at the Limited. Standing in front of the mirror, she decided she looked o.k., even with no bouquet. They were meeting at the church at 2:00 in the afternoon, along with the preacher and 2 crazy friends. All the pews were empty as they walked into the sanctuary. After the I-Do’s were said, he leaned down to kiss her. He was so tall, standing at 6′3″, and she, at 5′5″ had decided to wear flats because they matched her dress. Shaking the preachers hand, they quickly left to change clothes and head back to campus to register for spring term.
That was 28 years ago today, also a Monday. There have been alot of bumps in the road, but Ron and I are stronger than ever. We get asked alot about the longevity and strength of our marriage. It really comes down to one word: commitment. And I would do it all over again.

Congratulations on 28 years. Keep working at it and you will catch up to my husband and I who will be married 49 years in June. I started beading 3 years ago and started a home business . My husband is my strongest supporter, giving his input and helping out at shows. Aunties Beads has been a great source of supplies and inspiration. Thank all of you.
Hadn’t checked the blog in awhile since there had been no additions since memory wire and today after I placed an order decided to check. Glad to have you back. I listen to Christian radio when I bead and it is very inspirational as well.

Congratulations on your anniversary! That’s a record-breaker in this day and age. You’re certainly right about the commitment part. It’s wonderful that after all these years, you’re still going strong.
My husband and I will be married for 15 years on July 23rd. Yes, there have been some real rough spots in our road but I, too, would do it all over again.
I know Ron knows he’s a lucky man. You’re both so blessed with each other!
